Favor provides family with resources on how to go about fighting the gun violence to make the world a better place for all of us and generations to come.
FAVOR embraces youth at their level and with a holistic approach. The goal is to enhance their development and direct them to become successful in various ways beginning with Life Skills.
My name is Jonas. I am A 33 year old man that lives in richmond with my wife and child. I graduated from VCU and have been working for dominion energy for about 8 years. When I first heard about the FAVOR Scholarship opportunity, my first cousin was gunned down in cold blood by her boyfriend in the middle of the night after she fled him due to domestic violence. The worst part was that a young baby boy was left without a mother and father (who is now incarcerated). Being his older cousin, i understood he needed a role model more than ever. The FAVOR scholarship not only provided me some assistance with buying books, which are expensive, but helped put in perspective what my role needed to be for my cousin. Gun Violence can have victims that aren't necessarily directly related to the incident. My cousin had to grow up without a mother who loved him more than anything in the world, and without a father who could have shown him what it meant to be a responsible black man. FAVOR helped me step into that role and we are currently a work in progress.
