FAVOR’s goal is to present multiple scholarships per year to seniors who have been victimized by a violent crime (particularly gun violence), or is an advocate against gun violence. Our application is open each year in October with the DEADLINE for APPLICATIONS scheduled for January 31st of the new year. He is an advocate against gun violence. He was
impacted by gun violence when his father discovered a person lying in their yard fatally wounded by gun shots. Unfortunately, the victim was shot as he was trying to rob a neighbor.
Joshua and his family, as well as their neighbors
were devastated and traumatized.
Joshua received a FAVOR Scholarship as an advocate against gun violence and for being impacted by this occurrence. He has applied this scholarship toward his attendance at Old Dominion University.
