Michael J’s Family Anti-Violence Organization (FAVOR) was established in 2001 honoring Michael Jackson. Mike was dedicated to serving his community and focused on educating the youth to be productive, self-sufficient citizens. He was an entrepreneur, a community leader, coach, Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, true friend and even an approachable stranger. His life was taken from his family and community through an act of senseless gun violence. Gun violence does not just affect the victim, but it also affects their family and their community, as well as the assailant, their family and their community.
Michael Jackson always made himself available to do a FAVOR or assist someone in need in any way and at any time that he could. His philosophy was, “Do what you ‘gotta’ do and roll on about life.” As a result of this statement, his untimely death and his advocacy for a positive direction for our youth, Michael Jackson’s legacy lives on through the birth of FAVOR, a non-profit 5013c organization.
FAVOR is dedicated to proactively and reactively supporting the positive growth and development of youth, including at risk individuals, those impacted by violent crimes (particularly gun violence) and incarcerated youth. Our mission is realized through impactful Scholarship, Life Skills and Skilled Trade Programs by providing positive development and direction.
